Introduction

1. Introduction#

This chapter’s target audience are the operators of the ID Broker. It gives an overview of the tasks this manual covers.

The ID Broker mediates between school authorities, which provide the identity data, and service providers, which consume it. Operating an ID Broker consists of the following activities:

  1. ID Broker Installation describes how to set up the nodes of an ID Broker domain.

  2. School authorities and Service providers describe how to connect and later disconnect the two sides of that mediation.

  3. Release Process describes how updates reach the staging and the production environment.

  4. Support explains how to gather diagnostic information and how to reach the UCS@school developers if something fails.
